Medical ID jewelry should include critical information that first responders need during an emergency. Common engraving includes:

  • Medical conditions (Diabetes, Epilepsy, Dementia, etc.)
  • Allergies
  • Medication requirements
  • Emergency contact phone number

The goal is to provide clear information that can be quickly understood in a medical situation.

What medical conditions can be identified on a medical ID bracelet?

Medical ID jewelry can identify many conditions, including:

  • Diabetes
  • Epilepsy / Seizure disorders
  • Heart conditions
  • Allergies
  • Dementia or Alzheimer's
  • Blood thinner medication use
  • Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) notices

Our bracelets and necklaces are custom engraved to clearly display the information that matters most.

Do you offer medical ID bracelets for long-term care homes?

Yes. Browels has supplied medical identification products to long-term care homes across Canada and the United States for many years. These bracelets are designed to help staff quickly identify residents and important medical information.

Do you offer medical ID bracelets for sensitive skin?

Yes. For residents with sensitive skin, we offer silicone and vinyl medical ID bracelets. Vinyl bracelets are lightweight, flexible, and comfortable for extended wear, and are commonly used in long-term care environments where residents may have sensitive or fragile skin.

What are the coloured discs used on stainless steel LTC bracelets?

Many long-term care facilities use coloured discs attached to stainless steel ID bracelets to quickly identify special care requirements. Discs are available in seven colors, including blue, red, black, green, gold, purple and stainless steel, and can be engraved with short codes such as "A" for allergies or "DNR" for Do Not Resuscitate. Colour indicators commonly highlight:

  • Fall risk
  • Allergies
  • Do Not Resuscitate status
  • Special diet requirements
  • Other facility-specific alerts

The colour system can be customized to match the identification procedures used by each care facility. Additional charges apply for discs and engraving.

Replacement Data Plate FAQ

Can you replace a lost or damaged data plate?

Yes. Browels can manufacture replacement data plates and serial number plates for many vehicles and equipment.

Replacement plates must be ordered by the equipment owner, and documentation may be required to confirm ownership.

Why is proof of ownership required for data plate replacement?

Data plates are used to legally identify vehicles and equipment. For this reason, proof of ownership and identification may be required before manufacturing a replacement plate.

This helps prevent misuse and ensures the correct information is reproduced.

Can you reproduce a damaged or worn plate?

In many cases, yes. If the original plate is damaged or worn, we can often reproduce it using:

  • A photograph of the original plate
  • A sample plate
  • Manufacturer information

Each request is reviewed to ensure the information is reproduced accurately.

Do you offer replacement plates for industrial equipment?

Yes. Many manufacturers and equipment owners require replacement plates when equipment is refurbished, repainted, or repaired.

We regularly produce replacement plates for:

  • Industrial equipment
  • Truck bodies
  • Machinery
  • Asset identification plates

Industrial Data Plates FAQ

What are industrial data plates used for?

Industrial data plates identify equipment, machinery, and manufactured products. These plates may include:

  • Manufacturer information
  • Serial numbers
  • Model numbers
  • Electrical ratings
  • Safety or compliance information

They are commonly used on equipment that requires permanent identification.

What materials are used for industrial data plates?

Common materials include:

  •  Aluminum
  • Stainless steel
  • Lamacoid (engraved plastic laminate)

The material used depends on the environment and durability requirements.

Can you produce plates for equipment manufacturers?

Yes. Browels regularly supplies production data plates for equipment manufacturers and industrial companies.

These plates are often ordered repeatedly as equipment is produced or assembled.

Do you support repeat orders for manufacturers?

Yes. Once a plate format has been established, repeat orders are simple. Customers often reorder plates as new equipment is manufactured.

What is lamacoid?

Lamacoid is a durable laminated plastic used for equipment nameplates, control panel labels, and identification tags. It resists UV exposure, chemicals, and abrasion, making it a common alternative to metal where weight or cost matters.

How is lamacoid different from metal data plates?

Lamacoid is lighter and often lower cost than stainless steel or aluminum, while still holding up in demanding environments. Metal plates suit higher-durability applications or where maximum longevity is required.

What attachment methods are available for lamacoid tags?

Lamacoid tags can be mounted with adhesive backing, pre-drilled holes for screws, or ball-and-chain attachment, depending on your application.

Do you make lamacoid tags for electrical and valve labelling?

Yes. Lamacoid is commonly used for electrical panel labels, valve tags, cable markers, and legend plates in industrial and commercial settings.

What thicknesses and ply options are available?

We offer lamacoid in standard 2-ply and 3-ply laminate, in a range of colors and thicknesses depending on your application.

Pet ID Tag FAQ

What information should be engraved on a pet ID tag?

Most pet ID tags include:

  • Pet name
  • Owner phone number
  • Optional secondary contact number
  • Optional medical or behavioral notes

Clear contact information helps ensure a lost pet can be returned quickly.

What material are your pet ID tags made from?

Browels pet ID tags are manufactured from stainless steel, providing excellent durability and long-term legibility.

Will the engraving wear off over time?

Our pet tags are engraved using permanent marking methods designed to remain legible with everyday wear.

Unlike printed tags, engraved tags will not fade easily.

Do you supply pet ID tags to veterinary clinics and pet stores?

Yes. Browels offers wholesale pet ID programs for veterinary clinics and pet stores, including display options and online ordering.
